Whine

When I have had some time off it is difficult to go back to work. Most of my friends have this perception that my job is exciting and glamorous. My friend Glenda likes to ask me where I get to go tomorrow? After ten years with the same company. It is beginning to feel somewhat like a chore. I don't realize that my schedule is so crazy until I spend a week at home. I have choices about what to wear. Instead of being limited to wearing an outfit that I packed in a hurry. It seems like what I pack is never what I really want to wear. It is usually the wrong fabric, weight, or fashion for the situation. Another benefit of being home is my ability to eat when I think I am hungry. I can cook some food instead of eat something from various convenient stores or fast food joints. I have entertainment options too. I can watch a movie, play video games, play with my kitties, climb, go bowling with Mike, etc. Instead of watching bad TV in Spanish, writing my blog, or working out in the dreary workout room alone. Being at home I have this thing called a car. And it opens up endless choices that can make life more interesting. I find that when I am home I rarely relax and sit down to enjoy my wonderful home. There is always chores, sports, or friends that need to be seen. To be honest, sometimes I get my best rest when I am in a hotel room in a small town without much going on. I will admit that occasionally, I slam-click and that means (go to my room and watch TV and not socialize with the other crew members). Time off is great but too much time off can make me anxious. Mike will sometimes say that I need to go on a trip and get out of his hair. Because even I can get fussy( I know that is hard to believe) when I don't have enough to do. There must be a perfect balance of work and home. Being a pilot I am not sure that I have the ability to know that perfect balance.

There is a joke that I heard when I was a new hire at AA. I didn't really get it back in 1998. Unfortunately, I get it now.

Do you know the difference between a airline pilot and a jet engine? The jet engine stops whining when you shut it down.
